half begun

by Ashley ~ February 16th, 2009

So, it’s been a very long time since i’ve updated this. The past couple of weeks it’s sad to say but i’ve spent all of my free time reading a series of books lol. There are 27 books that I have read and I’m patiently waiting for a few more that finish up the whole series there were three different series that I read but they all go together just different people and stuff.

Today Corey and I have been married for half a year! It has flown by I cant even believe we are half way through our first year of marriage, kind of sad but kind of exciting. It’s soo much fun knowing that everyday I’m going to wake up and spend everyday with my best friend. Which is what we do have a lot of fun. We are soo silly together. I love it when our friends look at us and say “gross” or “married people” lol There has been a couple of times when I just get lost in his eyes and it’s like we are the only ones in the world which happened yesterday and I just realized how cool it is! It’s an amazing feeling knowing that you have the strongest bond that exist between two people, you cant get much closer than a husband and wife. Ha earlier Corey was reading a card that said “you’re future wifey mrs. ashley potter” and he looked at me and said “whoa you’re a mrs. can you believe that” so being married hasnt officially hit us all the way lol. I LOVE BEING MARRIED!! and he thinks he’s the lucky one pshh.

I work a lot now and i’m starting to pick up more hours, I started off at 3 days a week 6 hours a day, now i’m averaging 4 days a week 8-10 hours a day, it just depends now. I really like working there and all the people. It’s a great place to work and I honestly believe it was answer to my prayers. Corey has been busy with photography last weekend we spend 5 days at the beach at a photographers convention, we learned a lot and are ready to get this business started all the way. I love going to the request off book at work and asking off with the reason of photography it makes me smile.

Our first valentines day was great! I had to work 7-3 saturday morning so while I was out my sweet husband cleaned our house and made me dinner, I came home to find 6 roses on the table each rose represented each month that we have been married, and a clean house, I was excited.  We took a nap, watched a movie, ate dinner, and played the wii, (which is what we do a lot now it’s so much fun). Oh I have to put this in here…he also made a website I dont agree with it but it’s sweet. http://coreylovesashleymore.com he is a nerd but a sweet one!

So that’s pretty much all that’s been happening the past couple of weeks. Thanks for reading!

Tis the season…to be sick

by Ashley ~ December 29th, 2008

It’s been a while since i’ve updated on this. I’ve been sort of busy, let me start off by saying I hope everybody had an amazing Christmas. Mine was great, It was fun to see all my family new and old. This year was our first official Christmas together, I mean we’ve been together for 6 years, so technically this was our 7 Christmas together (holy cow) but this one was the best yet! Waking up on Christmas morning and starting our own family traditions. A thought came to me this year, this is one of my last Christmas’s without a child in my life. That’s so weird to think about, a lot of people are giving us just like 2 or 3 years lol. I can promise that nothing will happen until we get a house I am 100% positive I will not raise a baby in this condo at all not even for a few months. I am beyond ready to get away, if our neighbors move it wont be as bad, we are having a lot of problems with our neighbors, which is aweful because technically this is a great place to live as newly weds. it’s a great first home, I know I complain about it, but it really could be worse.  who knows maybe our neighbors will leave sooner than we thought ;) of course we wouldnt have anything to do with that. Anyways, for Christmas we got an OVEN!! One of my major complaints about this place is our kitchen and esp. our oven, because it didnt work and we couldnt cook ANY thing, and Corey’s mom got us one for Christmas and I cant wait til it gets here!! We are gonna cook roast beef cassarole and cookies! the first night we have it. Hopefully it will be wenesday. Corey got me a new camera it’s a cannon 20D which is just a few steps down from his camera I’ll be able to help him at weddings now witha good camera and get better pictures. My mom got a puppy!!! Me and Corey had to babysit him for two weeks, because my step siblings didnt know about him, so we had to wait til Christmas. He is a 9 week old Chiwheenie (chihuahua dochsund mix) he is adorable I call him cutie face, they decided to name him oscar. I also got a job, I started on december 22. I work at Chick-fil-a, my favorite place to eat. It’s about time and good timing too, now we can save up and get a house and move out!

The past month has been a tough one, the first week of December I was sick in bed for two days and still felt sick with a stuffed nose for a week, and then two weeks later I developed a cough and I lost my voice and the day after Christmas right after my voice is finally back,  I get sent home from work, because I got sick, I went home got sick again (which made people question on rather or not I was pregnant, I can guarantee everybody that I am not pregnant!) and then slept for 5 hours, that was on friday and i spent the whole weekend battling my stomach and I think I’m over that now. Hopefully I’m over my sicknesses now, except Corey is feeling a little sick. He handles his sicknesses better than I do.

We’re going on ski trip on thursday, what a perfect way to start out the new year! We will be gone until Sunday. I’m excited for the new year, the past two years havnt been too amazing for me, besides getting engaged and married (which are the best thing I could ask for ever), but i’m ready for a full good uneventful year. I’m starting off great, I have a job, a wonderful husband who makes me soo happy, I’m working develping some hopefully long lasting friendships, and I’m working on my relationship with God. Our group of friends have had some pretty big changes in it and im excited to see how God works in our group.

That’s all my updates for now there’s a lot but it’s been a while.

Happiness!!

Here are some of our wedding photos.

Homeless

by Ashley ~ November 24th, 2008

Friday night was busy.  Corey came home at 5:45 and we had to eat really fast so we could be at the church by 6:30, we went with the youth to a Corn Maze. That was pretty fun…cold but fun. It’s kind of weird to be a youth helper instead of a youth specially because it was just two years ago I was a youth, I find myself still thinking I’m a youth instead of an adult it’s very weird. Corey and I are like the tech people lol. Corey does mostly video and I take pictures. I love this job because Danny, our youth pastor and also the one who married us, wants us to go on most of the youth trips. I cant complain lol. We have been doing a lot of work with them…I say we but i mean Corey.  He just finished the youth website www.ntbcyouth.org It’s pretty cool. Anyway, we got back to the church a little after 10:30 and then we jumped in the car to the fair grounds.
Friday night Corey and I had a chance to be homeless. We participated in a thing that our new church, Midtown, started called homeless for the homeless.  We got to sleep outside with not comfort except blankets and things like that. We just happened to sleep outside in 18 degree weather. We had no clue the weather was 18 degrees until sunday night.  It was freeeeezing. When we woke up we had ice all over our sleeping bags. The next day there were various activities for the homeless that we didnt stay for. If you want more information the website is www.homelessforthehomeless.com. I am never going to take all my comfort for granted.

Saturday was my birthday! I am 20 finally, I feel like I’m older than that but I’m only 20 and aparantly I look like im 12 so I’ve been told many times. I’ve actually been 12 for about 8 years now according to other people. Saturday was a good day. Minus the not sleeping and freezing homelessness when we woke up we packed up and decided to go home because we were gonna be out late and we needed rest. So we slept until 12 in our nice warm bed that we take for granted.  We went to Charlotte to Concord mills mall, and then to South Park Mall, where we ate dinner at the Cheese Cake Factorey, which was really really good. Oh!! I got three wonderful gifts from my hubby. Corey got a painter program on his computer so he can make a picture look like he painted it. So he painted one of our wedding pictures and got it printed on good size canvas along with two other smaller square canvases with two of my favorite wedding pictures on them. I can not wait to hang them up!

Sunday we had my family birthday party with my Dad’s side of the family.  I love and miss those people and I’m really glad it’s not as hard as it could be to spend time with them. I had fun and it was sooo good to be apart of that family again. I’m glad my dad planned it for me. Then we went to Corey’s parents house and helped his mom out a little. I love that family a lot!
Today is my family party with my mom, we are also getting pictures taken by Patty so she can have a video of a session, I’m excited about both.

This is an incredibly long post sorry about that. We had a busy weekend! Hope you enjoy

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just an Update

by Ashley ~ November 20th, 2008

I wanted the next post to be our wedding pictures, I have the picked out but the files are too big so I need to make them smaller. The ones I have picked out are on this computer (my laptop) and I dont have photoshop on this computer. Corey is too busy to fix them. I need a better laptop with photoshop. This one wouldnt be able to handle photoshop. I want to sell this laptop and put the money towards a new laptop sooner or later.  So hopefully the pictures would be put up sooner or later who knows.

Not much has been going on here.  A few weeks ago we went to see trans-siberian orchestra which was amazing! Corey’s first wedding on his own is next saturday the 29th. I’m really excited about that I’ve been going with Corey and Patty for the past three saturdays to weddings so I’ve learned what I need to do as Corey’s assistant and I’m really excited to become a husband and wife photographer team! It’s going to be fun if anybody needs pictures check out his website www.coreypotter.com.  This past week Corey became an official member of PPA Professional Photographers of America so he is officially professional!  All he needs to do is take a test (which I know he will do great on) to become a certified professional photographer.  I like to brag about my amazing husband he is def. something to brag about lol.

My Birthday is on Saturday!! I will be twenty! No longer a teenager. Corey says he’s sad that he wont be married to a teenage any more. He’s so funny.
I’m still jobless and still applying, I have not given up yet.
That’s about it. Hope you enjoyed my update

Website Down

by Ashley ~ November 6th, 2008

Sooo Corey had a few problems with the hosting company and he didn’t realize it until after they shut down most of his websites, which of course included ours. The company managed to back up most of everything except most of our post only have the first sentence and nothing else. Soo we lost all of my thoughts and updates from before we were married :( which makes me sad, we also lost the pictures, but Corey said he can still put them up…I think.  I cant really complain we could have lost EVERYTHING. The about us page is still up which I am very happy about that. After 2 months of begging lol Corey finally took the time to redo the website and put it back up.
I can not believe it’s already been almost 3 months since we became husband and wife, which is still soo exciting to say. Time has really gone by fast.  I was very pleased with how the wedding turned out if something went wrong I dont remember I was too happy to notice.  Our pictures are amazing, I hope I can get some of those up soon.  It was truely the best day of my life which went by way to fast.  The honeymoon was a lot of fun.  I even enjoyed the rainy days at the parks, although I could have gone without the soaked shoes, I had raison toes like the whole week lol. It was very special and I wish we could go back like…now.

This is going to be a long post with all of my updates lol. I’m not much of a chef Corey is WAY better than I am. He cooks and I try to help him with most things. Our meals are usually hamburger helper, spaghetti, soup, and mac and cheese.  That’s all we eat because that’s all we can cook lol.  Our oven does not work.  Which is not a happy thing.  On September 16 I decided to do something special for Corey, you only have your first month of marriage once, so that night Corey went out to do his life group with all the guys and while he was out I cleaned the condo, and decorated it with candles all over the place, I spent all day cooking, MY FIRST MEAL lol his favorite food ever, Roast with potatoes, greenbeans the way he likes them and with a little help from my wonderful mother in law we made macaroni and cheese (the real stuff).  I found out about this awesome thing called a crocpot lol.  After I got all the food together I got dressed, I wore the dress I wore contra dancing the night of our wedding I put my hair up which from the front looked like it did at the wedding, I also did my makeup like it was for the wedding.  When Corey came in the room was lit by candles and we danced to our first dance song “Love of my life” with a slide show of our wedding pictures going on. Then we ate dinner which he really liked, and with help from my mom lol we drank the wine we used from our toast in the same glasses. It was a lot of fun.

That’s the most exciting thing that’s happened for a while. We love being married, it’s so much fun.  We spend most of our time being silly together and we watch a lot of movies lol.  We also listen to books on cd. We found that the library has a lot of ways to be enertained for FREE! We are enjoying that. We have taken a lot of pictures over the past couple months The photography business is starting to pick up, the first wedding Corey will do is November 29. He has also booked a wedding for next year which we are looking forward to. I’m still looking for a job. Boo. So I think that is all of our updates probably missed some but oh well. I’ll be adding pictures sooner or later.
Sorry this was so long.

Pictures Coming Soon!

by Corey ~ September 5th, 2008

Sorry to everyone who has been checking frequently and not finding any updates…

I’ll be posting some pictures soon… I had some I was working on, and I lost some data somehow on my computer, so I have to go back and do it again.

Did I mention our photographer is awesome?

Do Not Disturb

by Corey ~ August 20th, 2008

Do not Disturb Hotel Sign

So now I understand… these signs are pointless for the night… because nobody is going to disturb you anyway… BUT they sure do come in handy in the morning when roomkeeping keeps knocking on the door… and you’re right in the middle of… uhh… sleeping ;)

We haven’t been taking any pictures because it has been raining non-stop. Of course that hasn’t stopped us from going out and having fun at the parks… but we cant take the cameras because we are getting soaked.

So far we’ve been to Hollywood studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. We’re going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow and then we’ll be able to go back to 2 or 3 of them before we leave. We also went to see Arabian Nights… which was a cool experience.

If we take any pictures… we’ll post them asap.
